Historic sour ale - blend 2021-04 with blackberries.
We almost don’t want to introduce @Kemker’s Aoltbeer as a beer, because it’s much more interesting: Aged for 19 months in red wine barrels it develops a fresh, mineral and citrousy acidity that reminds more of wine than of beer (It’s a spontaneous sour Ale!). Jan and Nicole work with local ingredients following historical westphalian recipes. They make several blends during the year introducing all of the season’s aromatics in the revival of this traditional drink from Münster.
About Kemker Kultuur:
Our brewery is located in the countryside in Alverskirchen – a small village near Münster, Germany. We brew beers that are inspired by our local history and agriculture. We ferment our beers and ciders with our house culture or spontaneously by our local microflora. When the weather allows we will use a coolship. The ingredients for our concoctions are sourced sustainably and locally whenever possible. Operating since February 2017.
