Origin: France - Drôme, Vercor
Grapes: Muscat petit grain
Process: This wine is crafted with a commitment to showcasing the natural beauty of the Muscat petit grain grape. Following a direct pressing of 5 hours without debourbage, it undergoes an 8-month aging process that further intensifies its complex aromas and flavors. Manuel Pineau adopts a non-filtered approach to preserve the wine's authentic character and ensures that no added sulfites are used, reflecting a pure expression of the varietal and terroir.
About the producer: Manuel Pineau, settled in Saint Roman in the heart of the Drôme region, is a vigneron of immense talent and dedication. With a foundation in viticulture and oenology acquired in 2005, Manuel's journey led him from initial experiences at Domaine du Mortier to establishing his own vineyard in 2016. Now tending to over 1.7 hectares in Die, focusing on Clairette and Muscat petits grains, his biodynamic practices underscore a profound respect for the soil and environment. Refraining from any chemical interventions, Manuel prioritizes mechanical soil work, manual harvesting, and the application of biodynamic preparations. In the cellar, his natural winemaking philosophy continues, with natural yeasts and minimal interventions defining his approach. The result is Les Gafarots and other wines that are fresh, lively, and richly aromatic, embodying Manuel's vision of creating natural wines to be enjoyed in any setting, from casual apéritifs to meals among friends.
