Honest Toil

A few facts about the oil:

- From 100% koroneiki olives, unblended olive juice
- Extra virgin (super low acidity, this year was under under 0.2%!)
- Cold pressed in the local village press within a day of harvesting
- Completely unfiltered which gives it a thick, opaque texture
- Source: the villages scattered between mountain and sea around the town of Kyparissia, Messenia, Greece
- Bottled / packed locally, within 2 miles of our trees
- Distributed in cities by cargo-bikes, supporting sustainable urban mobility

...a fantastically smooth, full-bodied, completely raw extra virgin olive oil with a light peppery spice and flavours of fresh cut grass.

"We're a small operation, bringing this extra virgin olive oil straight from our village just south of Kyparissia in Messinia, on the West coast of the Peloponnese, Greece.
Alongside our own trees we also work with other small-scale producers from the village who harvest the same type of (koroneiki) olives using traditional methods. Our intention is to support small-scale local producers, whose subsistence income is otherwise coming under threat with ruthless competition from international large scale industrialised production, and to work together to share a real olive oil at a reasonable price, exposing how an ethically-produced Greek extra virgin olive oil can, and should, taste.

The olives are harvested by hand, pressed within a day of being picked, processed only with the use of cold water. Unlike the vast majority of "extra virgin" olive oils, ours is unblended and completely unfiltered, meaning it really is as unadulterated as possible ...simply squashed olives - just as it is in yaya's kitchen."
