Our journey has started back in 2016 when we, Pietro Nicotra and Vincenzo Costanza, created a project known as “Siziliessen” – small independent company focused on high quality products from Sicily and operating in the wholesale scene of Berlin and Brandenburg.
Over the time our product range and geography of producers and partners we’re working together with grew outside of Sicily – nowadays we are representing all Italian regions. Thus, we’ve decided to start a new chapter of that – so far – amazing journey and named it “PURO”.
The name PURO came easily – it represents our philosophy and vision: pure and transparent as our relations with farmers, producers, and clients; pure and high-quality as our products.
Since the very beginning, our mission was to promote and actively support small producers and artisans – people who fight industrial mass-production through sustainability, ethic and respect for the nature and animals. We choose partners who goes beyond industry standards and organic certification by focusing on non-chemicals production and improving year after year on reducing the impacts of climate change. That’s what we share we them, apart from our love for great food.
Because of our past – and current – experience we’ve created strong partnerships with companies we work directly with, knowing every single person behind each product – people we trust and find extremely professional and very inspiring.
Today PURO is offering an exceptional professional service and flexibility to any business operating in the gastronomy scene, such as restaurants, pizzerias, cafés and bakeries, ice cream shops, manufactures, deli and grocery shops, and much more.
