Melsolo | Loin de l'oeil - 2019
Origin: France - Gaillac
Grapes: 100% Loin de l'oeil/L'En de l'El. This grape variety is one of the oldest in France and is found only in the Gaillac vineyards
Process: The bunch, with its long stalk, is far from the bud (the eye) that gave it birth. Grapes in organic conversion. Grown by Thierry Barreau in Castelneau-de-Montmiral. Harvested and de-stemmed by hand, foot crushed, spontaneous fermentation (indigenous yeasts), two weeks maceration with daily punching of the cap, matured in fibre tanks on fine lees for 10 months.
Flavor profile: This wine has a fine, intense, yellow color with the aromas of white flowers, pear, apple, honey and wood. On the palate, you will enjoy rich and harmonious flavors with a long finish.
About the producer: Melsolo - Mélanie Kröber is a small producer in the Gaillac region, known for its commitment to organic farming and the production of wines from indigenous varietals. The vineyard is in conversion to organic status; no herbicides or insecticides are used and the vines are manually tended with leaf removal and green harvesting taking place by hand. The vineyard benefits from the warmth of the Mediterranean climate, tempered by oceanic breezes that keep the vineyard healthy by aerating the vines.
