The round, dark violet-blue fruits are not only beautiful when they hang on the tree in late summer - with their fruity-sweet taste, they are also excellent for making compote, jam and marmalade. Cultivated in orchards for centuries, the plums ripen in late summer to autumn and thus forms the conclusion of the fruit harvest in the garden year. A touch of fresh orange and red currant juice is added, rounding off the finely acidic taste of the plum.
